The Madison Moderns Become Chattanooga's First LEED Certified Homes
Chattanooga, TN (May 14, 2009) – Collier Construction received some very exciting news last week. The Madison Moderns received platinum LEED certification from the USGBC (or Green Building Council).
These are Chattanooga’s first LEED certified residential properties as well as the first and only LEED Platinum properties in all of Tennessee.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. LEED certification provides third-party verification to homebuyers that their home complies with rigorous technical requirements for energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, non-toxic materials, and environmental performance.
LEED provides the highest standards in the certification of green homes, and platinum certification is simply the highest level a home can earn.
Homes that are certified through LEED complete a verification process that includes a home energy (HERS) rating and onsite inspections.
Credit goes to developer Christian Rushing for pioneering these chic modern homes that truly raise the green bar in Chattanooga.
Mr. Rushing lives in one of the three homes. The other two homes are on the market for $242,500 and $249,500 before the $10,000 homebuyer incentive.
